I wanted to share some reflections on our recent team trip to Copenhagen, which was an incredibly valuable experience for everyone involved. This trip was much more than a team outing; it was a unique opportunity to connect with our clients, immerse ourselves in their environment, and gain a deeper understanding of the market we operate in daily.
At Agilo, we truly value the distinct character and perspective each team member brings. We believe that allowing our personalities and viewpoints to shine through not only makes us more human but also strengthens our professional relationships. This trip provided an excellent platform for us to do just that.
We spent valuable time with our long-standing partner, Tekla, with whom we’ve enjoyed a four-year collaboration. Meeting face-to-face always brings a different dynamic, enabling us to observe the subtle nuances of our clients’ operations and truly grasp the values that guide their decisions. Beyond our work, we also took time to experience the city, including a memorable evening at Tivoli Amusement Park, filled with laughter and a fantastic meal together.
During our visit, we had the opportunity to visit Tekla’s office and store. This gave us invaluable insights into their retail operations, from the cool, minimalist, and open design that emphasises simplicity and clean lines, to their focus on product interaction through engaging displays and hands-on experiences. Engaging directly with staff about how the POS system functions in a real-world setting was particularly enlightening. We gained a shop-floor perspective that rarely emerges in meetings, reinforcing the importance of being present and close to our clients’ world.
Our trip also included a productive meeting with our new client, Buzz CPH, the group behind the popular Jagger, Otto, and Ritta restaurants. We met the team at Otto, renowned for its pizza, which certainly lived up to its reputation. It was inspiring to witness the care and thought our clients invest in every detail, from the minimalist interior and logo-engraved metal features to the minimal food aromas from the kitchen, a dedication to detail we strongly relate to. (As a side note, the team enjoyed Otto and Jagger on several occasions; they truly offer the best pizzas and burgers in Copenhagen!)
Beyond our client engagements, we also had ample downtime to explore the wonderful city together and strengthen our team bonds. This included relaxing at the Winter Island Sauna, sightseeing at Amalienborg Palace, visiting the charming La Banchina cafe, enjoying a food stop at Warpigs, and experiencing some evening entertainment.
Copenhagen offered a wealth of these experiences, reminding us why we cherish working with brand-driven companies like Tekla, Buzz CPH, Flatlist, and Palmes, our inspiring clients from the city.
Trips like this remind me that team building extends beyond workshops; it flourishes through genuine conversations, shared meals, and moments that reveal our authentic selves.
Face-to-face interactions will always be more impactful than video calls, providing context, connection, and clarity that cannot be captured in a meeting agenda or project plan.
Copenhagen, we will definitely be back.
